Baby room

The baby room have enjoyed going out for autumn walks
within the local area looking at the changes to the
environment, collecting leaves and getting lots of fresh
air.
They have also been getting involved in lots of fun and
messy activities i.e. painting autumn squirrel for display,
saving foam play, song time with musical instruments,
leave prints and rubbings.
All new children have settled well into the nursery
environment and are enjoying lots of physical activities
which have developed their physical skills such as
balance, co-ordination and fine and large motor skills i.e.
Push along toys, dolls prams, play balls, toy cars.

1-2 room

The children have been focusing on autumn time and
looking at the changes to the environment. They have
been out on nature walks with in local area collecting
leaves, berries, and flowers which they will use for arts
and crafts activities such as leave prints, collage
pictures, still life drawing.
Song time and story time has been a big hit with the
children, they have been taking part in ring games and
action songs which help develop physical skills.

2-5 room

The monthly focus is My Body and Healthy Living. The
children have been discussing healthy eating and the
different food groups using the Eat well to play well game
and top tots activity packs. We have also been looking at
how to keep safe within the nursery and when we are out
and about i.e. road safety, safety indoors and in the
garden. The house corner was changed into a dental
practice so the children could become more familiar and
share their experiences of visiting the dentist.
The arts and craft area will be busy over the next few
weeks as the children will be designing and decorating
displays of my body and autumn using lots of collage
materials.
The 2-5 room has purchased new house corner
furniture which should arrive soon and we have also
received new construction materials and games.

Visits to the local library will be arranged for the children
to go along and read stories and choose books to
borrow.
Our focus for next month will be Night and Day. We will
be looking at how our routine changes from night to day
and compare these. We will have discussions on the
sun, moon and stars and will use books and pictures as
reference.
Michael Recycle

Who is Michael Recycle you ask? Well, Michael Recycle is
a super hero and his mission is to make the whole world
eco friendly.
Michael Recycle is a book we have purchased to help the
children understand Eco Schools and how they can
contribute to saving the environment. All the play rooms will
be taking part and you have any ideas or suggestions or
wish to get involved please speak to a member of staff. The
topic will start in October and will be our monthly focus but
will continue so we can reach our green flag award in the
future.

New Staff

Soon we will have our very own nursery cook who will be
preparing lunch and afternoon snack and carrying out all
kitchen duties. If you have any suggestion of meal options
